Dean & Deluca

Overview

On the sixth floor of Central Embassy, right at 1031 Phloen Chit Rd, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330, you’ll find Dean & Deluca-a name that has long been associated with gourmet food culture and curated culinary experiences. The moment you step in, the atmosphere feels polished yet relaxed. Clean lines, warm lighting, and shelves stocked with artisanal products create a setting that blends New York deli energy with Bangkok sophistication.

I’ve visited this location several times, usually after business meetings nearby, and it consistently delivers a dependable dining experience. What stands out first is the menu. It’s not just a café lineup of pastries and coffee; it’s a well-rounded selection of brunch plates, hearty mains, fresh salads, sandwiches, and premium desserts. On one visit, I ordered their truffle mushroom pasta paired with a cold brew. The pasta arrived perfectly al dente, coated in a creamy sauce that balanced richness with earthy depth. It wasn’t overly salted or heavy, which is often the risk with truffle-based dishes. Instead, it felt thoughtfully composed.

Their bakery section deserves special attention. According to data from the Specialty Food Association, consumers increasingly value premium baked goods made with high-quality ingredients. That trend is clearly reflected here. The croissants are flaky and buttery without being greasy, and the cheesecakes maintain a smooth, dense texture that signals careful baking technique. Watching the staff manage the pastry display during peak hours also reveals a strong operational process. Items are rotated frequently, and presentation is kept immaculate, which reinforces confidence in freshness.

Coffee culture is another area where this spot performs well. Bangkok has no shortage of specialty cafés, yet consistency is what separates the good from the great. The baristas here follow precise brewing ratios, and you can taste the difference. Whether it’s a flat white or a pour-over, the balance between acidity and body is well controlled. The International Coffee Organization often highlights how bean sourcing and roast profile influence flavor complexity; you can sense that attention to sourcing and roasting is part of their approach.

Beyond food and beverages, the service style contributes significantly to the overall experience. Staff members are attentive without hovering. On one occasion, I asked about ingredient sourcing for a salad, and the server clearly explained that many of their greens come from trusted local suppliers. Transparency like that builds trust. It also aligns with global hospitality standards promoted by organizations such as the World Tourism Organization, which emphasize service quality and food safety as key pillars of modern dining.

The location itself adds to the appeal. Being inside Central Embassy means easy access via BTS Phloen Chit, and it’s a convenient stop whether you’re shopping, working nearby, or meeting friends. Compared to some standalone diners, this branch benefits from foot traffic yet maintains a calm, almost boutique-like atmosphere. It’s suitable for casual lunches, informal business discussions, or even solo dining sessions with a laptop and espresso.

Reviews from both locals and international visitors frequently mention reliability. That word matters. In a city where new restaurants open constantly, consistency builds authority. While prices are higher than average Bangkok cafés, the quality of ingredients, presentation, and environment justify the premium. Of course, menu items and availability can change over time, and peak hours may affect waiting times, so it’s always wise to check updated details before visiting.

All in all, the combination of curated gourmet offerings, structured kitchen processes, attentive service, and prime location makes this dining spot more than just another café in Bangkok. It feels like a well-managed culinary space where global standards meet local expectations, and that balance keeps people coming back.

Love - Pumpkin Pie Visited here after a long time. Love their mugs. I haven't seen such shiny designs in a while, beautiful. I found the food alright but their Punpkin Pie is kind of good. They said that Pumpkin Pie is made once a year only in December. Nice ambiance and people are lovely. One of the tall male person was super nice. Cheers

Yummy ice cream crepe dessert. I order the spaghetti with meatballs for lunch but enjoyed the dessert. I thought the food was good enough to come back a second day to get breakfast. O ordered the eggs benedict and I was not disappointed. Benedict cooked to perfection with a side of cubed potatoes and fresh orange juice hit the spot. Two floors up from the ground level you’ll see the Dean and Deluca on your right heading out to exit Embassy to Central. Modern restaurant and not too crowded. Food is good. Highly recommend!

Lunchtime was very busy, with a lot of people around. We came for a small birthday celebration with more than 10 people. The staff was extremely helpful, and we ordered a lot of food and beverages.

Decent lunch stop while shopping and Central Embassy. It's a bright and airy spot, which is a good thing after shopping indoors. The lobster roll was very good, nice flavors and cooked well. The Pastrami sandwich had great flavor but the brisket was a bit tough, heck it's tough to cook one perfectly. Also went with the truffle fries, nice and crispy too. Good value for the price.

premium retailer shop with restaurant at same venue, offering western style food, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, cakes and pastry, alcohol and wine, steaks, salmon steak, soups, both cold and hot drinks like coffee also available, if you are a budget traveller, just browse and look at the menu, you can find some dishes or snacks not too expensive especially considering you are dining in a premium shopping mall. as can be expected, foods and soups are very tasty, and actually value for money! Actually the restaurant has lots of customers at peak hours

Fairly good food at a fair price, desserts are good too. The food used to be better when it first opened, however still relatively OK. No complain, sadly the business doesnt look very good now during covid. Service is very good, thumbs up for the manager who is also additionally attentive and helpful.
